Overcoming Unbelief

Baptism-6.jpg (94119 bytes)

We are not only asked to believe in Christ, but do you believe Him?  If you want to believe but struggle with believing God at His word, here are some scriptures to pray.  Ask God to know their truth in the depth of your soul.

"You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he.  Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.  Isaiah 43:10

"If you can?" said Jesus.  "Everything is possible for him who believes."   Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"  Mark 9:23-24

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.  That power is like the working of his mighty strength  Ephesians 1:18-19

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.  Hebrews 11:6

And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed?  So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.  Hebrews 3:18-19

Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands.  Psalm 119:66

When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied.  Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you."  Matthew 9:28-29

"This is the meaning of the parable; The seed is the word of God.  Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.  Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root.  They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.  The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.  But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop".      Luke 8:11-15

"I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?" John 3:12

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.   This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God; Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.  1 John 4:1-3

What if some did not have faith?  Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness?  Not at all!  Let God be true, and everyman a liar.   Romans 3:3-4
