Membership
Membership in the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole is a commitment that requires attendance at an informational class taught by Senior Pastor Paul Hayden. The class is a wonderful introduction to comparative theology and an opportunity to ask questions and meet others who are likewise seeking information. Contact Teresa Nye at tnye@pcjh.org, so that the church staff and volunteers will have food and materials prepared for you.
For those attendees of the Church Information Class who are interested in becoming members, the next step is attendance at a Session meeting. The Session of PCJH generally meets monthly and is composed of congregation members elected to serve on this 12-person team, responsible for leadership and governance of the church. Meeting with this group enables church leadership to get to know prospective new members. The meeting moderator will also ask each participant the following Questions of Membership:
+ Is Jesus Christ your Savior and Lord?
+ Do you trust in Him?
+ Is it your intent to continue being his disciple, learning his ways, and showing his love?
+ Will you commit to being a faithful member of this congregation giving of yourself in every way, and will you seek out the people of God wherever you might go?
Importantly, for those who are ready to make this commitment to PCJH, invitations for further involvement will be extended by Katie Robertson, Elder and Chair of New Member Assimilation. Questions? Contact the church office at 734-0388.
