2008 ANNUAL PLEDGE DRIVE

    The Holman Bible Dictionarydefines Stewardship as “Utilizing and managing allresources God provides for the glory of God and thebetterment of his creation.” Among these resourcesare our time, talent and treasures. Your PCJH Stewardship Team wasestablished to focus on the third of theseresources – our treasures.

    The Stewardship Team is charged with raisingthe monies necessary for the general operationsof the Church. The monies pay for the fulfillment ofthe Mission and Programs of PCJH. These expendituresinclude: staff salaries; heat, lights, maintenanceand other operating expenses of the Churchbuilding; program and outreach; and the like.These ongoing operating expenditures are distinguishedfrom the monies raised by the BuildingExpansion Committee, which is for the constructionof the new additions to our Church facilities.For planning purposes for theupcoming year, your Stewardship Team solicitspledges from the congregation. Because the operatingexpenditures are budgeted each year andwe have a pledge drive to commit to them eachfall, we now call this annual activity our “Annual Pledge Drive.”

    The goal of each year’s Annual PledgeDrive is to garner maximumparticipation of the congregation and identifythe monies to be used in thefollowing year for the operations of the Church.The congregation will be asked to fill outPledge Cards and turn them in on Pledge DriveSunday, November 11th.A further explanation of thisprocess and a copy of the Pledge Card will be includedin the November edition of the Pinnacle.
